Hi Indecisive, in response to your query, here's my reasoning (for what it's worth and bearing in mind my 'L' plate status as an investor). When the merger was announced, the estimated value of SPR shares rose to $1.78. Here it wobbled for a couple of days and at the time looked like that is where it was going to stay. In the meantime, RMS shares were at $2.21 which was incredibly cheap. My thinking was that most of the RMS s/hs hadn't fully realised the full potential of SPR ... ...and so, while I could get $1.76 for my SPR shares and buy RMS at $2.21, I thought that was a good trade. If, in the event, the deal doesn't go through I can quickly sell RMS for a profit. SPR shares will undoubtably fall back to under I $1.40 over time and I can pick up more SPR shares. Being a newbie, I hadn't of course factored in the rise in SPR rise as the RMS share price rose. But there you are, we all learn along the way.
