I need to correct myself, anyhing that burns fossil fuels is bad for the environment! there's no doubt in my mind.
The argument that Evs are increasing c02 emissions I do not believe in, over a period of time, regardless of power source, the EV will contribute less to C02 emissons than an ICEV. If the powersource is fossil fuel only then the parity is greater than 5 years, But parity is achieved and then after that the c02 emissions of an EV contribute less to the C02 total than an ICEV for the same amount of kms driven.
As far as the article states that EVs will be as green as the grid they plug into the parity would be achived much earlier across nearly every country as renewables is a contributing factor. lets say between 6 months and 1 year and then the emissions and the "better for the environment" stats are well in favour for the EV over ICEV. All this is taking into account the emisions cost of production.
The negativity bias towards evs in the article does not work for me.
