was pretty telling that the brokers/GTT guys dumped into the run up. Funnily enough data shows mostly retail as the net sellers last couple of weeks, with brokers UBS/Barrenjoey/Morrison/Openmarkets/Finclear participants doing a lot of ‘churn’ for not much net size. not sure how distributed this volume is within each platform but noteable none the less. today again commsec dominant in volume (normal), Finclear/barrenjoey/openmarkets/ordminnet/ubs participating. When I get some time I’ll be able to trace the volume/trade counts to orderbook updates to figure out each of their behaviours - curious which ones are using algos (and what the algo logic of each is). pretty easy to filter out the market makers (virtu et al) and retail usually, and map in the traded volume per day per platform to orders.
