Things I know about and since the RMS/SPR announcement:
1. RMS are known as canny operators.
2. I didn't have any RMS shares until 10 days ago.
3. RMS have cash and more to come over the short term.
4. SPR brings scale and grade and dovetails nicely with the MM mine plan.
5. Scale, grade and cash mean resilience.
6. The key output of a gold miner (i.e gold) has at present a reasonably strong chance of remaining around present price levels or even increasing given the Trumpian world and wars and rumours of wars.
7. If we should have peace in our time and the price of gold plummets then a) I'd be relieved, b) I'd happily take my losses, and c) my other industrial metal shares including the copper production of some gold miners may mitigate the impact, and help me walk joyfully into the sunny uplands of universal brotherhood and prosperity.
8. The merger has created confusion and there is no single narrative.
9. Those who want a clear narrative by which to invest will be holding off.
10. But..... the noise and reticence created by this transaction until the smoke clears means the price does not reflect the potential uplift if the story proves to be a positive one.
11. I will be buying below entry price of $2.15 if the price falls sufficiently to enable the average to be meaningfully lowered even though other stocks including gold miners will need to be sold to do so.
12. Mrs Eagle is at the door mumbling with some news - another grandchild or something.... sheesh better keep investing.....
