Executive remuneration is largely a joke. Unfortunately at the expense of shareholders and not just at Perpetual. Look at how many pages of an Annual Report are now devoted to the smoke and mirrors of justifying the unjustifiable aka the Remuneration Report. And that’s before you get to the very concept of someone earning seven figures requiring a “bonus” to ensure they do their best work.
