My understanding is it has been impossible to get funding for gold projects until very recently. Similar issues around financing for project development have been discussed by Challenger Gold resources management. However, going from the most recent interview with the above company, it sounded like financing may be starting to flow again. Hopefully, STN can confirm positive financial options are becoming available.
