And Rene still has the money in his pocket and has been up and running again with his own followers for some time ,

Is another big overseas broker on its way back home with its tail between its legs?
We hear around the traps that TD Waterhouse is for sale.
The firm, which has a Canadian parent, expanded down under when it merged with the first of the discount brokers, Rivkin Croll Smith, several years ago.
The local market has not been a happy hunting ground for an overseas stockbroker.
It's been more broke than stock.
Remember how the world's biggest discount operation Charles
Schwab came here like a white tornado to clean up all the local operators?
It didn't last long.
Elsewhere - while we're on a roll - we also hear Merrill Lynch
is scaling down its operations and selling its insurance activities (we
never knew it HAD insurance activities).
