    The charting issues, mmm, got a second hand copy of MS 6.5, had a play with it for a while and wasn't able to work out how to convert/actuate data to create charts.
    one of these days.

    It a brilliant piece of software
    lots of free data on the net grab some and use the downloader to convert it .

    Open the Downloader
    click Tools then Convert and the Convert Securities box will open
    in the Source
    File type select ASCII Text
    File Name click Browse button and the Choose Source Files box will open
    in the Look in box select the file you saved the data files to
    in the Files of type select All Files(*.*)
    now select the data file you wish to convert and click on it then click Open
    In the Destination
    File type select Metastock
    under Folder click Browse button and the Save box will open
    In Save in select the directory where the A to Z files are stored (this is directory where you go when you are looking to open a chart in Metastock (probably in C:/Programfiles/Equis/Metastock Data/Data).When all the directories from A to Z are displayed click Save button
    click Options button and in the source make sure Use todays date is ticked and
    Traverse source folders is ticked and Daily has a dot next to it.
    in Message Limits
    change Max errors to 25000
    change Max warnings to 25000
    click Destination and make sure every thing has a tick or a dot next to it except
    Replace existing file
    click Apply and then OK
    Now click OK and the conversion will start.
    When the conversion finishes a Conversion Report will pop up.Click Close then close the Downloader open Metastock and you are in business.
