windows xp & internet explorer 6/outlook 2002

OK, Just got my nice new PC with Windows XP and installed Office XP. Found that the "Autocomplete and remember password" on Internet Explorer does not work even though I have checked the settings for Auto Complete and all is OK. I then found that my password is not being remembered for my pop mail accounts within Outlook 2002. I tick the "remember password" box every time it promps me but it still won't remember the passwords. I have tried everything I know and have even downloaded Office Service Pack 1 & 2 in the hope that this would fix the problem.

Anyone else had this kind of problem before? Would appreciate any suggestions :)
