Well, I'm one of those parents with a daughter starting Year 8 this year. Last year she received academic excellence awards in all core subjects (both semesters) and a Principals commendation a the end of year presentation. I kept a close watch on her studies throughout the year via the schools online portal and became reasonably familiar with the curriculum. To suggest there is no room for personal finance to be incorporated into the core learning is rather short sighted. I'm sure the 6 week assignment on ancient Rome culminating in a 60 second verbal presentation (in full costume) is essential!
