I was starting to get a little worried having seen the Clarence River levels at Tabulam recently.
Totally true they are salty. The point at which they would need to divert is at Tabulam which only has a 1,000 mm rainfall. In a year such as this it has come back to 700 mm. Not enough to recklessly give away.
