Some Companies will provide a copy of the Top 20, some don't it is not a legal requirement to do so.
If requesting the Top 20, you need to decide if you want it grouped or ungrouped
What is a legal requirement under Section 173 the Corporations Act
Inspection fees;
- A member of a Company may inspect a register kept under this Chapter without charge.
- Other people may inspect the register only on payment of any fee (up to the prescribed amount) required by he Company.
Right to get copies:
The Company must give a person a copy of the register (or part of the register) within 7 days if the person:
- makes an application to the company in accordance with subsection 3A; and
- pays any fee (up to the prescribed amount) required by the company.
Subsection 3A
An application is in accordance with this subsection if:
- the applicant states each purpose for which the person is accessing the copy; and
- none of those purposes is a prescribed purpose; and
- the application is in the prescribed form
From experience (this may differ) in LTR's case;
- the prescribed fee is $295.00 for entries up to 5,000 shareholders, and
- $0.05 for every shareholder above 5,000
The problem with obtaining copies of the registry is it is not grouped other than the institutional companies.
I also think you will find that obtaining a copy or part thereof of the registry is for personal use only, so sharing on social media / share forums wouldn't be allowed.
