Quick cranker tonight ... Just got home .
Inspired by my love of classic Aussie sayings.
Being raised an ethnic lad I've always been
on a learning curve with the Aussie lingo.
I remember being around 16 yrs old coming
home after my driving license test. Visiting
us was an old Aussie bloke by the name of Reg.
I told him I passed my test but was a bit
nervous because the instructor that day wasn't
the usual bloke but a lady. In his gruff voice
Reg asked me if she was a good sort? Not
knowing what the hell he was asking me I looked
at my parents for help , only to be greeted with
weird confused smiles which I in turn passed
on to old Reg. Since that awkward day I've always
had an ear out for Aussie lingo.
Now I have a mate who you have to watch what
you say around. A couple of one liners that
come to mind are .... if you say I've got a head
ache he spits back " a head like yours ought to
ache". Another is when we are having dinner
& chook is on the menu he can't wait to tell
you " this chicken tastes fowl "
So feel free to chuck in a one liner on the
Xjo thread today folks.
Before I go here's my favourite courtesy of
my cheeky 6 yr old .
See ya later alligator don't forget your
toilet paper..... She's thinks she's so clever
throwing that one out !
Cheers
Costa
ps. I reckon Mrs PBear is a good sort.
