One thing I would say is that doctors and doctors in skin clinics are just like everyone else --
mechanics, dentists, or whoever --
they are not created equal.
Just like finding the right mechanic or lawyer or dentist or accountant or whatever -
it's more often than not - difficult.
Do not expect to walk into the first place and find someone of quality -
whilst they may have the same 'qualifications'
'qualification' does most certainly not equate to 'quality'
for that - you have to listen - you have to ask questions - you hopefully, will have some recommendations -- and, more than one as well - and, not only that -- but, good recommendations -
The 'best' health outcomes are when the person themselves takes 'control' of their life and decisions - ie. they do not just leave it up to the doctor etc..
also, don't fall into the trap of thinking someone is good because they are a nice person - the nicest person in the world might be the crappiest practitioner.
Do your best - it's all you can do.
Read like mad, RECORD everything - times, dates, comments, pathology reports - scan them - save them and back them up.
It's often your life we are talking about ---------------- you only get one of them - and, if you lose it - you can't come back for a warranty claim.
Just think what you do if you buy a car or you get your house painted --
for painting the house -- do you go with the first quote?? - or do you get 2 or 3 quotes?
ditto - important medical opinions.
and, buying a car ------- often, it takes you weeks to hunt down the right one --
why pick the first doctor you speak with in that case?
