About bluddy time, WA paying the way of other bludger states for too long.

All able body men of fighting age are being called up, under the confederate states of Australia flag.

Muskets and sandy coloured uniforms will be issued shorty.

Perth, 26 February, OGT—The Treasurer of Western Australia , Eric Ripper, has labelled it "perverse" that 90% of WA's mining and petroleum royalties are redistributed to other States and Territories, while WA taxpayers bear the cost of attracting projects and investing in infrastructure for economic development.

Ripper said the latest recommendations of the Commonwealth Grants Commission left Western Australia A$374 million out of pocket compared to 10 years ago.

"We have been punished by Canberra for being successful. It is a ridiculous system that financially punishes a State like WA for generating the wealth on which the rest of the nation depends," the Treasurer said.

Ripper said the recommendations reinforced the need for a radical overhaul of the way Commonwealth funding was distributed.

"While WA firmly believes in supporting those States who are not as well endowed with natural assets, it is an outrage that WA is subsidising Queenslanders who are financially able to stand on their own two feet," the Treasurer said.

He said WA's share of funding was projected to decline even further in the future.

"Western Australia has been making the greatest contribution to the nation's wealth of any State or Territory but gets the worst deal in Commonwealth grants and other payments returned to the State," Ripper said.
