Not sure if others agree but I would define commercial magnet production when annual volume exceeds 1000t - even then, it is a rounding error at the global scale (see below). So, if serious, Brazil needs to plan beyond LabFabs 200tpa in 2028 and be an order of magnitude greater by 2030. This will likely require bringing in existing non-China global players and not putting all their eggs in one as yet unproven local basket. Of course, they should retain a full supply chain under their full control, so investing in LabFab is vital for that, but true volume to leverage their massive REE deposits in a timely manner will need global input.
