Labfab is a government project with government funding, not really an investable business at this time. Labfab magnets will be more expensive than China (they even admit this in the public domain). So what this boils down to is what subsidisation will the Brazilian government do to introduce low volume Labfab production into the market place? Can they get an offtaker to sign up with the low volumes planned even if subsidised? Why would companies like BYD care about Labfab magnets when they can source their own from China at their spec and at low prices? Unless the government forces them to take some supply, then at what price? and will the government be essentially subsidising the production of BYD vehicles or the like because BYD won't pay the premium for the local magnet? I could go on. It's a great concept and appreciate the effort to get something going but without government funding, Labfab would not exist or would disappear in a flash.
