such is the profound nature of grief and sorrow. and over thousands of years Jewish people have known a great deal of grief and sorrow.

it raises a serious question: what could any of our national and state leaders have done to prevent this atrocity? could they have prevented pro-Palestinian protesters from marching? Netanyahu's murderous regime was the issue they were protesting about. they were justified, and in a democracy that take freedom of speech seriously, would any govt be right to stop such protests?

same with Jewish protests in support of Netanyahu.... would Jewish people be happy if they had been prevented from marching? surely whats right for one is right for the other.

although it seems obvious, the Akram father and son's actions motivations aren't yet known - and they don't represent anyone else; not Muslims generally or any other sector of the community. they seem to have been very secretive in their planning and preparation.... they were well-prepared. could police or ASIO have found out their plans? were there any indicators they were planning such a terrible tragedy? we might find out if the younger Akram survives and is tried.
