    The Vikings used to flavour their dried fish for long journeys with reindeer droppings, so yes we have a few better flavour enhancers these days.

    Religion has become just too problematic for me. I do find meaningful thoughts and aspirations in words like the Sermon on the Mount, the writings of Lao Tzu, Meister Eckkhart, etc.


    But the minefield of religion in general is such a turn-off. It's an endless conflict, one against the other, against logic, science, common sense and mostly against God in that I'm sure it was never meant to be such a divisive and destructive force in the world. Then you have to cop some dill whose on a first name basis with God who can tell you exactly what God's thinking and what He really meant. I saw that Hillsong's Brian Houston once with a friend and looked at the worshippers and I knew that pretty much the world had ended and all religion was dead.
