US Dollar plunge

The plunge in relative value in the US dollar compared to European and Asian currencies may finally be the trigger that lifts the US manufacturing sector and particularly the high tech stocks. US technology products have been uncompetitive offshore for at least 3 years and many US companies pulled back to the US after the Asian Crisis to service the US domestic market which was booming but has since crashed.

I had a US trip planned 9 months ago but the contacts I was to meet at different technology vendors were all given notice in the weeks prior to the meetings.

Now however US products will be more attractive pricewise and the global outlook improving (for US products) should lift sentiment on tech stocks in the US and then generally.
