Just shows what a weak individual this dud is.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull gave a big speech demanding democracy in the NSW Liberal party after realising members would back Tony Abbott's Warringah motion to break the grip of the pro-Turnbull faction bosses:
It was stirring stuff, journalists agreed:
As the party of freedom and of the individual, we must give every member a say.
But when it came to the vote, Turnbull was suddenly missing:

For clarity @TurnbullMalcolm not present, did not vote today but "sources close to PM" leaked 8am he "would not support Warringah". Dumb. https://twitter.com/rosscameron4/status/888997270397476864 …

    Weak. Spiteful.
    UPDATE
    Denying Abbott the credit:
Asked if the victory can be seen as a big win for the former prime minister, Mr Morrison extended the congratulations beyond Mr Abbott.
'You can read it as a win for everyone who thinks that plebiscites are a good idea and that includes Malcolm Turnbull, Tony Abbott, Scott Morrison and a whole range of other members,' he told ABC radio on Monday.

Alan RM Jones puts it well:

Yesterday of all days Malcolm wanted to talk about what Shorten wanted to talk about - natch. Pay no attention to the Warringah Motion victory; look at me talk about four-year terms and play to Shorten's agenda and tactics. How transparent. On the day his home division votes for more democracy he doesn't even turn up but instead calls the Labor leader to support LESS democracy for the Australian people. Beggars belief.
