SPI Futures traded in a small 23 point range last night, with a high of 6238, low of 6215 and a close this morning of 6222, down 18 points on very low volume of 5,213 contracts. Based on that small range, my pivot point and R and S levels are below, however, owing to the small range I will be waiting for a break of the high R and low S before placing a trade unless something tells me otherwise. Last nights opening gap did not fill, so gaps above at 6225, 6230, 6236 and 6240 from last night and 6247, 6270 and 6271 from a previous day and down at 6201, 6191, 6188, 6186, 6184, 6182, 6171, 6166 and 6157 from previous days. DOW down .10 pct, SNP down .06 pct and Canada (resource driven) up .21 pct, so there is some hopium for the XJO. VIX up 2.58 pct to 12.32 - still in the safe zone. US down apparently due to bank earning reports, this was after they were up on good JP Morgan earnings. Humm. Let's see what the ES futures do at 8 am. The two gaps on the ES I mentioned yesterday filled, leaving one down at 2895-ish.

Today in 2017, the World record was set for a gathering of Charlie Chaplin lookalikes - 662 at Manoir de Ban, Chaplin museum in Vevey, Switzerland. To quote the great man - "The mystic urge to gamble is as deep in man as the instinct to survive. It is as much a part of him and as unavoidable as breathing, for whomever lives, gambles with life." He must have been a SPI trader too. Have a nice day, and don't gamble. Choose your trades carefully.
