Given the state of negotiations and how desperate Trump had become, Trump even posting that he demanded Israel stop immediately, there was 0% chance that Iran had agreed to allow ships though the strait if the US were going to continue to blockage Iranian ships.

Given the sequence of events it seems obvious that the US negotiators reached an agreement with Iran that both parties open the strait as an act of good faith whilst the broader negotiation took place on ending the war that Trump started. Trump waiting until Iran confirmed this publicly then wasted no time pushing out another post saying that the US was going to keep blocking Iranian ships.

Trump is so stupid. He thinks that Iran would just accept being lied to and double crossed in the same day and keep its end of the bargain whilst the US didn't keep its own. Trump likely thought that the world media would allow him to claim hero status for getting the strait open and turn on Iran when it was immediately closed again and not realise how it happened.

Tards like to fantasize about how Trump plays 7d chess but its clear that Trump can't think 1 step ahead in a game of Jenga. Trump's only move is to threaten to pull the largest block from the bottom of the stack and throw it at you like an ape then jump on the furniture screaming "winning" before standing in a pile of his on excrement and demanding that somebody clean it up.

If we were to give Trump credit for what he did here the credit would be that he again managed to manipulate some of the most gullible people in the financial markets and no doubt people close to him made "cha ching" sounds. Whether Trump is even smart enough to understand what is happening around him is debatable.
