thoughts on earnings

having covered my short for a qucik profit thoughts of the parrot are turnng to what effect the earnings might have on NCP as I don't like bouncing shorts taking away my margin...

here are the possibilies

1) the earnings result is good. price goes up

2) earnings redult is bad but Rupert does his snake oil charm trick: price goes up

3) EARNINGS UP BUT SIGNIFICANT WRITE DOWNS IN PARTS OF GROUP.MARKET DOES NOT BELIEVE RUPERT. PRICE GOES DOWN

the parrot is now thinking 3 is the likely result next week and as I am tending to believe him more and more I think a short will be safe

what do others think?
