Coco: agree entirely. Negative gearing is outrageous:
Below is an email I sent to the CEO of the Melbourne Cricket Club. Interested in your view.
Dear Mr Gough,
I have been a member of the MCC for over forty years, and I have been grateful for the privilege.
On Anzac Day, there was a cavalcade of veterans and serving officers. There was a banner from both clubs honouring their fallen. There was an appropriate ceremony. On the ground emblazoned was the motto “Lest We Forget”- again, appropriate.
What was totally inappropriate was the Toyota logo on the ground. As you would be aware, the Japanese beheaded, tortured and starved thousands of Australian servicemen, nurses and nuns in World War II. That the MCC would condone the sponsorship of an Anzac Day ceremony by the Japanese is beyond belief.
I would hope that the MCC Committee would bear this in mind before they give their support to Japanese sponsorship in 2018. Any argument that it is an AFL matter would be an abdication of duty.
