I've known a lot of doctors in my career. including many GPs. of course there are some who bank on scamming medicare. I recently encountered one who sat in his cubicle writing up pathology and radiology requests and 'fixing' the consultation times. I was very unimpressed and referred the matter to the clinic manager. he left a short time later. some people are just plain hungry or greedy.
but most GPs I've known are not so. they're more usually focused on the wellbeing of their clients. some that I've known don't make big bucks and are content with medicare payments. but both parties have failed GPs and they clients, first freezing medicare payments for 5 years, the only minimal increases and that simply for the vibe. Albanese was no better at improving the lot of GPs.
