I've always thought S.A. was a better location for the plant. Far less chance of annual disruption due to weather, which over the LOM isn't predicted to get less severe. A fair bit of Darwin Harbour could be under water in 25 years....but then I've got a fairly pessimistic view of where global warming is heading and how fast. Just a personal opinion.

    - I did note big lithium battery deal for S.A. again this week on twitter. VRFB's only need to capture 10% of grid storage market to really boost demand though. Again my pessimism tells me decision makers like the cheaper upfront cost of lithium - as none of them will be in their position in 10 years when the VRFBs are really paying off. Self interest wins most times. But, 10% of grid storage? That's do-able.
And in anycase TNG as the lowest cost producer will be still standing long after others close the door if the vanadium market does turn south. After the others close the price hits a nice sweet spot for TNG for a few decades - a pretty good worst case scenario.
    Again personal opinion only.
