if the infrastructure cost more to maintain then what home users are willing to spend on a monthly BB bill then what the infrastructure will be worth is what business and government users are willing to pay for the rest of the network, which is not much of the total spend. Probably less than 11 billion
The fibre in the ducts of residential dwellings will just sit there and rot as home users use wireless/VOIP for all their needs
read here - free mobile phone telephony is on its way, no need for the NBN. im buying a wifi phone pretty soon and will use it at home on wireless router and as a free mobile phone on the go
I suspect it wont be long before there are hotspots everywhere
