SATELLITE SERVICES IN MAJOR DEMAND FOR NATIONAL ELECTIONS

Iridium Satellite LLC ("Iridium Satellite"), global provider of
satellite voice and data solutions, today announced a partnership
with Telikom PNG Limited ("Telikom PNG"), Papua New Guinea's prime
telecommunications service supplier, to offer Iridium Satellite's
global satellite services across Papua New Guinea.

Telikom PNG becomes the third major telecommunications provider after
Telstra and SingTel in the Asia Pacific region to join Iridium
Satellite's expanding network of service partners. This is in line
with Iridium Satellite's strategy to seek partnerships with primary
telecommunications providers across the Asia Pacific region in
addition to other major distributors and dealers.

Iridium Satellite's affordable product and service range is expected
to play an important role in Papua New Guinea's telecommunications
infrastructure with nearly 80 per cent of its 4.15 million population
and major industries located in remote and rural areas where other
communications services are unavailable, unreliable or uneconomical.

Telikom PNG will launch its marketing program targeting the current
political campaign in preparation for national general elections as
political parties and their candidates rely heavily on satellite
    services to communicate with constituents.

Other potential customers include: national disaster services, police
and defence surveillance operations remote, health centres and
mission stations, tourism and the major mining sites operated by BHP,
    Chevron, Lihir and Misima.

Iridium Satellite launched services in April 2001 after purchasing
the assets of the bankrupt Iridium LLC.

Iridium Satellite LLC Chief Executive Officer Gino Picasso welcomed
Telikom PNG's entry into Iridium Satellite's global service provider
network. "This agreement demonstrates the growing demand for
satellite communications services in the Asia Pacific region with its
remote mining, maritime, defence, and forestry sectors," said Mr
Picasso. "Iridium Satellite's package of competitive pricing and
comprehensive constellation is well-suited to the Asia Pacific
    region."

Telikom PNG's Managing Director Sunil Andradi said he was excited
about the market potential for satellite services in Papua New
    Guinea.

"Incorporating Iridium into Telikom PNG's service portfolio provides
an immediate avenue to bridge city, rural and remote areas with
affordable satellite services," Mr Andradi said. "This partnership
will assist many Papua New Guinea sectors in realizing the benefits
of satellite technology with global coverage."

Under the deal, Telikom PNG will purchase equipment and airtime from
Iridium Satellite and will resell these through an existing
distribution network. Like all service providers in Iridium
Satellite's global network, Telikom PNG will provide the crucial link
to the customers by acquiring, provisioning and supporting their use
    of the service.

Michael Abela, Chief Commercial Officer of Iridium Satellite's Asia
Pacific regional representative, Quadrant Communications, said the
partnership is a testament to Iridium Satellite's overall value
    proposition.

"Iridium satellite services are now more affordable and are steadily
becoming the logical and viable option of communications in remote
areas," said Mr Abela. "The partnership will offer Telikom PNG's
customers more choice and flexibility." Telikom PNG will work closely
with Quadrant Communications, to market and sell Iridium services
including voice, data and text messaging.
