TAB v ASX

Mr Costello - Please explain if I spend hours looking at the form at the TAB and hours looking at the AFR/ASX to find the best performing shares, the horse winnings are tax free and the shares are subject to GCT.
One is supposed to be a gamble, the other an investment, for the life of me I cannot see any difference, especially if I am day trading.
