    Weirdly that analogy is actually spot on.

    You should be paying the $3.15 for some fries (i.e the cost of subcontracted staff) from an existing buisness where the cost of operation is naturally spread across every customer.

    Instead you've set up your own fry making shop where you are seemingly literally the only customer meaning the operation cost is being covered 100% by SYT as it's the only source of income making the cost of those $3.15 fries actually thousands of dollars.

    You've essentially created an inefficient profit sucking middleman in your own operation that just happens to be owned by one of your own directors ...
