    Swiftel Gets Its Maiden

STRONG corporate client growth has enabled Perth fibre optic carrier Swiftel to rack up its first positive earnings result just 15 months after commissioning its network.

The company announced yesterday it had strung together three consecutive months of record sales to give rise to a maiden positive earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation result for April.

The result comes on the back of a boost in the number of corporate clients on Swiftel's books, with engineering firm Clough and several State Government departments signing on in recent weeks to push total contracts signed to more than $3.9 million.

Swiftel shares yesterday closed unchanged at 9¢.
