    We are talking about trustee paying the tax (on behalf of the trust) at the highest individual rate for the undistributed trust earnings, not a penalty added on to your personal tax return for being a trustee. Did your trust have undistributed income? Did you pay tax on it? What rate did you use?

    I quoted from the ATO website. Perhaps you should take it up with them if you think they have it all wrong.

    It is needed, but don't worry about it.
