The index funds lend out their stock and probably other funds too. The index funds own the stock because it's part of the index, they have no view on the company. Other funds mostly will be invested for fundamental reasons, long term the fundamentals will play out so lending out their stock and getting paid to hold the position works for them, short term fluctuations are irrelevant.
A few ideas on where support might be found, the lower trend line of this base might get tested, unlikely but possible on of the highs of the old base get tested or possibly the 150d or 200d MA. I'm not going to guess on which one will work if any, but good places to watch for a reversal.
Fundamentally I still have a very positive view of the company but this chart is fugly now
On a positive note, if this pattern fails and it turns back up here soon, a lot of traders will be caught short so the rip back higher will likely be vicious
(edit : just noticed my lower trend line is poorly drawn but ya get the idea)
