    You can imagine how much support this will get from alarmists who don't want to find their claims undermined
    On the other hand, isn't about time that we did review the claims properly to see that our money isn't being wasted on bogus or exaggerated claims?

    The government would never actually allow a review to be conducted, if it were to do so and the results showed that greenhouse gasses were not the cause of any deterioration of the GBR they would then be hard pressed to justify all the subsidies spent on renewable energy projects. This would point to the fact that their ongoing energy policies have been a colossal expensive waste of taxpayers money, and that would not do one bit.


    A quality assurance program is an excellent idea. With such large sums of public money involved it is not unreasonable to ensure that research studies are properly evaluated before funds are approved. The government must of course ensure that the review panel is independent and does not include anyone in the university administration that might benefit directly or indirectly from the money.
