Yep. They were patient and seemed to think Ukraine were going to concede less sooner. Instead it looks like Ukraine's option has degraded to lose more later, after years of destruction OR/ continue losing a losing battle, after even more years of destruction... (I know, hindsight..)
You remember that there have been periods when Russia didn't seem to fire many of it's missiles, despite having the capability...
