The Clinton News Network is possible the GOP's greatest help

The Republican National Committee launched a new ad on Tuesday in response to CNN personalities Don Lemon, Rick Wilson, and Wajahat Ali mocking President Trump's supporters as uneducated and illiterate.

While discussing the recent feud between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and NPR, Wilson, a frequent Trump critic, shifted the conversation to discuss Trump's voters, suggesting they could not find Ukraine on a map.

"[Pompeo] also knows deep in his heart that Donald Trump couldn't find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter 'U' and a picture of an actual, physical crane next to it," he said, prompting laughter from Lemon.

"He knows that this is, you know, an administration defined by ignorance of the world, and so, that's partly him playing to their base and playing to their audience. You know, the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump."

Wilson then impersonated Trump voters while speaking in a heavy Southern accent. "'Donald Trump's the smart one — and y'all elitists are dumb," he said. Ali and Wilson insinuated Trump voters reject geography, maps, spelling, math, and reading.

The ad uses clips from the CNN segment and moments from 2020 Democratic presidential candidates Pete Buttigieg and former Vice President Joe Biden where they seemingly disparage Trump supporters. Buttigieg can be seen saying Trump voters are "looking the other way on racism, at best," during a 2019 campaign event.

The ad also flashes back to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" remark from 2016. "You could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. You know, the racists, sexists, homophobic, xenophobic, islamophobic, you name it!"

The ad ends with the sentences: "They think you're a joke. Prove them wrong in November."
