Question re Manipulation

    G'day all,

    Here's an interesting question.

I'm sure that many of us here have at some stage or another held a large enough quantity of a stock that by selling them we would seriously influence the market in that stock. In those situations it would surely be tempting to pick an approriate point, dump on the market and re-buy lower.

Now, in my simple understanding, such actions would (or at least could) be interpreted as manipulation and are illegal.

Furthermore, we are led to believe that the ASX has processes in place to detect such activity.

Now the question. Has anyone her either unintentionally or (god forbid) intentionally been in this situation and been queried by the ASX? .

I'm just trying to see if the ASX really are looking after oure interests.
