Australia's third-richest man, Richard Pratt, is now the owner of a 7.16 per cent stake in toy company, Funtastic. This makes him the company's fifth-largest shareholder. MD, David Hendy, said on 2 December 2002 that it was highly likely Pratt would buy more shares in the company, if past experience was any guide. The stake was purchased between early October and late November 2002 through Pratt's private company, Thorney Holdings, at a cost of $A5.95 million. The first batch of shares was bought as part of Funtastic's $A24 million capital raising. The company purchased JNH Australia a short time later. Funtastic shares closed at $A0.99 on 2 December.
