POWER workers could go on strike within days, potentially disrupting electricity supply to homes and business across the state after union demands for an 8 per cent pay deal and security on a range of generous perks was knocked back.
Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy workers were balloted about industrial action in January after enterprise bargaining negotiations with the Baird government collapsed.
The votes were counted yesterday and workers from both companies endorsed a range of measures, including indefinite strikes, bans on call-outs, and using clauses allowing workers to return to work depots for lunch and to use the toilet.
More than 87 per cent of Ausgrid staff and 76 per cent of Endeavour staff voted for strikes, the Electrical Trades Union said.
The ETU and the United Services Union, which represent 9000 workers who maintain electricity networks across large parts of NSW, must give state-owned Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy seven working days’ notice before launching industrial action.

    ..........
Bill Shorten is rallying the Union troops in the background.
He is getting the few extra votes by stealth to knock off the electorates Labor requires, to win the states.
This action in NSW is preceding the NSW election.
Labor will then have all the Eastern states prior to the Federal election!!
