US republicans and democrats have condemned Trump’s unacceptable TS posts and reported comments about destroying the entire Iran Civilization … a swathe of world leaders have done likewise, including our PM.
Trump is damn lucky Iran re-offered the same 10 point peace plan he rejected earlier in the week, giving him a last minute off ramp that stalled war crimes Trump was about to commit.
Trump has inflicted untold reputational damage on himself mostly, but also on the US in general.
Iran’s regime is still intact, they still control the Hormuz Strait, they were able to inflict a global energy crisis not preempted by the US and Israel, they shot down/destroyed multiple US aircraft, they were not defeated after almost 6 weeks and they are defiant. Trump also has managed the unthinkable, he created strong support for a hated regime for the way that regime stood up to an even more hated US regime.
Trump cannot at this point crow about an unprecedented victory over Iran … the US war was an impetuous il-prepared move by Trump … and he is not out of the woods yet.
