Paul Keating's turn of phrase

This is not a political post. I simply got a laugh out of these Paul Keating quotes in todays Telegraph. No doubt those on the receiving end gave as good as they got.

    (1) To John Howard: "I did not slither out of the Cabinet room like a mangy maggot"

    (2) To Wilson Tuckey: "You boxhead you wouldn't know. You are flat out counting past 10"

    (3) To John Hewson: "I was implying that the Honorable Member for Wentworth was like a lizard on a rock - alive, but looking dead"

    (4) To Andrew Peacock: "We're not interested in the views of painted, perfumed gigolos"

    (5) To the Liberals: "You were heard in silence, so some of you scumbags on the front bench should wait a minute"

    (6) To John Hewson: "[His performance] is like being flogged with a warm lettuce"

    (7) With regard to Don Watson's new memoir on him, Keating said playfully: "[It's] a bit like the black box recorder in a plane. It starts out in January 1992 and it stops when the plane crashes."
