More capital expenditure in moving Gas around Australia wonder if CTP could tap into this line and move its gas too ? same way as FMG is going to use BHP rail lines

Origin Energy Ltd says a new pipeline agreement will help it to move gas from Queensland to customers in southern Australia.

The agreement would see gas transmission company Epic Energy expand capacity on the 937 kilometre South West Queensland pipelines and QSN link from Wallumbilla to Moomba.

"The agreement covers the transportation of up to 1,200 petajoules of gas over 22 years from January 2012 with extension options over some capacity for up to a further 10 years," Origin told the stock exchange on Tuesday.

Origin's executive general manager of energy Markets, Frank Calabria, said the agreement would "provide Origin with increased flexibility in moving gas resources from Queensland to our customers and power stations in southern Australia".

Additional capacity also will be added on the Moomba to Adelaide pipeline, with options also to expand the South West Queensland pipeline further.

At 1213 AEDT, shares in Origin were trading up 28 cents, or 1.7 per cent, at $16.06.
