Yesterday I slow cooked beef bones, refrigerated overnight. This morning, a wide disk of fat was then removed. Chopped up 4 large onions (following recipe from slowcooker book), cooked in fry pan until translucent (in a little of that removed fat), put the 3.5 cups of stock into slow cooker together with the onions and went shopping - for the parmesan to be grated on top of the soup, and some brandy to add to my soup. Shall make a lovely evening meal. Any leftover will go into freezer.

So, yes, I agree - slow cooker is wonderful, so long as you know how to use it. I have an elderly Sunbeam slow cooker (5.5 ltrs) and it is still firing away very well.

I also like my Pressure Cooker.
