interesting post - particularly when combined with this from goodie ''Infrastructure in Sydney will never catch up because of the sheer volume of people moving there in the form of immigration. What have they added, a city the size of Perth in the last twenty years? And the future projections for both Melbourne and Sydney are horrifying."

So ----------- how does all this sit in the next 20 years - when the vast bulk of city jobs are white collar- and white collar is really going to be hit for 6 with AI ------------ already happening.

What shall we have? -- by the looks of it - IF it continues - we will have city housing prices that are very very expensive - and cities filled with unemployed - including a lot of immigrants.

There is something quite impossible about that equation - indeed, it does NOT equate at all.

So - what gives????????? -- if desk jockeys can't get salaries - they won't be able to afford to live in the cities -

    so -------------- who will?

Blue collar workers? ---------- nope, won't be a lot of them around either.

Investors? ------------ well, surely there is a limit to their numbers.

Foreign owners who use black money from other countries and leave the real estate empty?? - maybe - fair bit of that now - but, a crackdown is under way - both from Australia and certainly China - so, that could be a dead duck as well.

Who exactly is it that is going to be gravitating to the cities then?

20 years isn't far away --- and AI is very close to doing a lot of damage as are robots and automation.

    interesting ponder, that's for sure
