    Africaonline has reported that rail workers in Nigeria are on strike after their demands for pay were not met. The troubled railway company has not paid its workers for the last three months and they are now demanding their salaries and pension payments. This comes as the government awarded a contract to a construction company to revamp the railway. The value of the contract is said to be more than $500 million.
