Striker: second Seppelt sample shows 2-carat grade RWE News 11:33:020 9/07/2003 Sydney - Wednesday - July 9: (RWE) - Striker Resources NL reports final numbers from the sorting of concentrate of the second 2003 bulk sample of kimberlite taken from the Seppelt 2 pipe has returned a grade of 2 carats per tonne. This is the third bulk sample from the pipe that has shown a consistent grade of 2 carats per tonne. From 296 tonnes processed, 593 carats of commercial size diamonds were recovered. Striker noted this sample contained a greater number of diamonds in the plus-1 carat range than the previous samples, including four diamonds above 3 carats in size. The two largest diamonds each weighed 3.9 carats. In total, 25,000 diamonds have been recovered from the first two samples with 30 per cent by parcel weight greater than 0.25 carat in size. Sampling has recovered about 1500 carats of commercial-size diamonds from the pipe, with an objective of recovering in the order of 4000 carats, for definitive assessment of diamond value.
