The other thread on Australian treatment of New Zealand citizens in Australia reminded me of the time I took a trip to New Zealand.

Upon arriving we were given immediate Permanent Resident permits.

This was based on my citizenship and the in the case of the better half, her Australian PR.

I'm wondering if the situation has changed and this is no longer the case?

And by the way, not even the Japanese discriminate against foreigners like the Australians do to people from New Zealand living in this country. Sounds like South African aparthied has a new home in the South Pacific.

The comments on that other thread were disgusting and what was even more disgusting that not one of them were given a TOU violation.

I guess that people can add the treatment of people from New Zealand to the list of Australia's dirty little secrets such as a the Stolen Generation, forced adoptions and removal of babies, the rampant sexual and physical abuse of children in religious and state care, and the treatment of indigenous people.
