New Revenue Streams

    G'day folks,

Having current experience of air travel I thought folks would like to know of knew revenue streams developed by Qantas and the airline industry.

Firstly changing flights which used to be free now incurs a charge. In London a couple of weeks ago I was charged $28 (ten pounds) per ticket to put back a flight a couple of days. For three tickets the totral cost was $84 for an activity that took three minutes in total. It is easy enough changing the booking over the phone but they will not let you fly unless the the tickets have been amended. If you trun up without the amendment on the ticket they will not let you fly so you are subject to last mineut extortion.

Sting number two; cancellation fees. Having just gone to London for unforeseen reasons I went to cancel a prepaid booking for June/July as the reason for travel no longer existed and guess what? A 25% cancellation fee! Being high season Qantas can now resell my tickets at a higher last minute price.

Apart from feeling ripped off I post to draw attention to the revenue streams now flowing into QAN (as dishonest as they might be) and what this will do for their bottom line. They were already the worlds most profitable airline and should now move even higher.

BTW don't try cancelling a US bound ticket - that will cost you 33%! B******s!
