    Yak israel is against them taking any water at all ,, lebanon has said it is entitled to take up to x megalitres a year..and is only takin y megalitres,,,i dont have the exact figures....

    Israel is NOT against them taking ANY water - thats a lie.

    You seem to suggest that there is this "international law" that Israel is in breach of.

    Another lie.

    It is simply a 1955 UN (Oh no! Not that august Arab coalition at work again) that says Lebanon can take up to 1.2 billion cubic feet from the Hasbani and Wazzani.
    And this was despite the counter calim by Israel that such an amount would reduce theflow to a trickle and seriosly affect the hydrology of the district.

    Presently they are taking ~350 million c/f.

    Fact is then Lebanon refused to accept the proposals in 1955. They wanted all the water and saw it as a tool to tackle Israel.

    Israel has in the past used water as a casus belli and thats not surprising given the ME politics.
